Healing With EMDR My Personal Story. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to try EMDR trauma therapy as a means to heal? I know when it comes to my own life I always feel more comfortable exploring new ways of healing if I've had the opportunity to talk with someone who has been down that path before.

My hope for creating this video is that the scary won't seem as scary if I can give you some insight into what it might be like to explore this form of therapy. Though everyone's experience will be different, the process will be very similar, if you are considering EMDR and want to know more, then this video is for you!

Until next time, stay strong, trust in the process, and show yourself a little forgiveness today.

With Love,

Crystal Wood

Have you ever had a fight, flight or freeze moment and you were surprised how much it was actually out of your control?

Do you understand the science behind theses powerful involuntary responses when your brain perceives danger? In this video you will learn about the limbic system and its role in managing emotions and processing memories as a survivor.

I was given the life-changing opportunity to attend The Haven Retreat for women who were sexually abused as children. It was there that I learnt about the brain science behind why I was the way I was; it was there that my perspective shifted; it was there that my perception of myself changed forever. As I sat in the presentation room on the first day of the retreat listening to the clinical director talk about the limbic system and its role in managing emotions and processing memories tears were pouring down my face. It was at that moment that I took a long deep breath, because finally, for the first time in my life, I understood myself.

If I can share what I learnt about my flight, fight or freeze response and the role your limbic system plays so you understand yourself better, well then I've accomplished what I set out to accomplish with this video… and who knows, maybe just maybe, that new understanding will help you find a little forgiveness for yourself today.

If you enjoy the episode, please be sure to take a screenshot and share it out on Instagram and tag me @_UGrowGirl and I’ll be sure to share your comments and big takeaways on my Instagram Stories as well.
